While I use the post-punk label somewhat loosely, I think it’s a good fit.
I started recording music in high school, but I’ve lost most of those recordings. Initially, I wanted to make songs that sounded like the Arctic Monkeys, but I didn’t know how to do that. I recorded most songs without drums, but getting into Russian post-punk bands like Kino and Molchat Doma opened me up to using drum samples and changed my approach to songwriting. I am also a big fan of Metric, Pixies, Dream Theater, and Shinjuku Mad. I find Joji very inspiring too.
I started taking the music thing a bit more seriously when I dropped out of college. For a while I was in a band with my friend called Phoebe and the Nurses (we aren’t nurses (there was no Phoebe)
My music has mostly to do with such themes as self-loathing, hypocrisy, cynicism, and the struggle towards God. I record everything in FL Studio.
I work as an HVAC technician and make music when I can. Most of it gets scrapped. I love music. Maybe someday I’ll make something really good. Thanks for tuning in.
